OUR BELIEFS

A GREAT COMMITMENT TO THE GREAT COMMANDMENT & THE GREAT COMMISSION WILL GROW A GREAT CHURCH!

Purposes

WACC is guided by the 5 New Testament purposes given to the church by Jesus are best summarized in 2 great statements of Jesus.

The Great Commandment:

37 Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] 40 The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”

Matthew 22:37-40 (NLT)

The Great Commission:

19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations,[a] baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Matthew 28:19-20 (NLT)

Our 5 Purposes:

1. Worship - we worship Jesus Christ as our lord and savior.

2. Fellowship - spend time with other believers of Jesus Christ.

3. Ministry - we give our time, resources, and talents to help others.

4. Discipleship - we strive to learn from the teachings of Christ and to grow to be more like his image.

5. Evangelism - minister the gospel and spread the word of Christ.

Communion:

Communion is a part of our worship service every week. We believe communion is a symbolic ritual where we use bread to remind us that his body was broken for us and we drink juice to remember that his blood paid for our sins. All who believe in Jesus Christ are welcome to participate in communion. Cups are distributed at the time of communion which includes unleavened bread in the bottom and juice in the top. Gluten free cups are available for those who have a gluten allergy so that they may participate in communion.

Baptism:

Baptism is a profession of faith for those who make the conscious decision to accept Jesus Christ as their lord and savior. Our church is equipped with a full immersion baptistry.

Independent Church:

We are an independent church. What does that mean? We are not governed by any denomination or other religious body. We have a church board made up of members of our congregation that manage our church.

Tithing:

While the bible mentions tithing, or 10% of income, we feel what you give is between you and God. Only give what you can afford. Any donation is a blessing, and we appreciate your support.
